New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh could miss up to a month after suffering a separated shoulder Saturday.

Head coach Alain Vigneault told reporters the team hopes the defenseman doesn't miss more than three-to-four weeks.

McDonagh was hit into the boards by Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane in Saturday's game.

He did not return and was diagnosed with the shoulder separation while the game was still in progress.
