Cam Barker released by AHL's IceHogs
Cam Barker was drafted third overall in 2004, but now can't even crack an AHL lineup.
Barker, who was picked by the Chicago Blackhawks behind Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin, was released by the Rockford IceHogs on Monday after the team trimmed its roster to 25 players.
A two-time gold medalist representing Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships, Barker never found his footing in the NHL, posting 21 goals and 96 points in 310 games split between the Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.
