Ducks' Heatley expected to miss at least 1 week due to groin ailment

Dany Heatley was preparing to start the season on the Anaheim Ducks' top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, but those plans could be in jeopardy.
Anaheim announced Heatley will miss a minimum of one week with a groin injury. That timetable rules the veteran out of any more preseason action and offers no guarantees he'll be in the lineup when the Ducks open their season against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.
Heatley has 791 points in 863 career games but is four seasons removed from his last point-per-game campaign. He recorded 28 points with the Minnesota Wild in 2013-14 while toiling on the team's lower lines, playing a career-low 14:49 per game.
