Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau responded Thursday to Teemu Selanne's criticism of him.
The criticism, found in an excerpt from the legendary forward's forthcoming autobiography, was revealed earlier in the day by Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
"Nobody likes hearing anything negative about themselves in anything, so in that sense, I'm a little disappointed, but I understand the frustration," Boudreau told reporters.
"You have to understand, when he said those things, it was right after (the) Game 7 (loss to the Los Angeles Kings). I could see the frustration was (felt by) everybody. If you'd talked to me at that time, I would have been frustrated about certain things as well."
Boudreau said he didn't enjoy hearing about Selanne's comments but again chalked them up to the circumstances at the time.
"I understand where he's coming from, didn't like to hear that in the book, but I understand and I'm sure it was in frustration more than anything else."
