The Ottawa Senators locked up a key component of their offense to a long-term deal Tuesday afternoon.

The 29-year-old finished fourth on the Senators with 55 points in 2013-14, and notched a career high 24 goals in 82 games.
"Obviously our happiness with his performance last year was a big reason to give him the term that we did," Senators general manager Bryan Murray said during a conference call on Tuesday (via TSN).
"He's in that 20-to-25 goal range on a somewhat consistent basis and he's a real complement to the young players who will end up playing at some point with him," Murray said. "Kyle Turris and him seemed to fit like a glove.
"Whoever plays on the right side I think will really benefit from playing with Clarke and Kyle. To me, it really solidifies a good pair that...will make our team a consistent contender."
A third round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2003 draft, MacArthur is a proven secondary scoring threat, topping the 20-goal plateau three times while amassing 117 goals and 268 points in 482 games split between the Sabres, Thrashers, Maple Leafs and Senators.
