Torey Krug had a pretty great NHL rookie season – and the KHL is taking notice.
The Boston Bruins defenseman is currently a restricted free agent who has yet to sign a new deal with the team. According to a report from Comcast Sportsnet's Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty, the KHL has offered Krug a substantial offer that would bring the 23-year-old to an unnamed team from the league.
Though it's still expected Krug will eventually sign with the Bruins, Haggerty says he might be using the KHL offer as leverage to get a better deal in Boston.
Krug registered 14 goals and 40 points last season in his rookie year with the Bruins, he also finished fourth in Calder Trophy voting.
