The Buffalo Sabres have reportedly locked up their leading goal-scorer from a season ago, re-signing center Tyler Ennis to a five-year, $23-million deal, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Ennis' $4.6 million average salary over the next five seasons slots him behind only Tyler Myers and recently re-acquired winger Matt Moulson in terms of annual haul for the re-tooling Sabres.
The diminutive center netted a career-high 21 goals to lead the Sabres' impotent offensive attack, but featured a forgettable minus-25 rating in 80 games.
The Sabres have since confirmed the signing, but have yet to release the contract's terms.
