The Calgary Flames, purveyors of truculence, have signed another heavyweight in swingman Deryk Engelland, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie. The deal will pay Engelland $8.7 million in total over three seasons and the deal has been confirmed by the club.
In 68 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, Engelland managed six goals and 12 total points. The 32-year-old hails from Edmonton, Alta. so signing in Calgary is "going home" to some extent for the veteran tough.
Engelland has played in nearly 250 games in his NHL career, all of them with the Penguins.
