Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov will miss two-to-four weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Demidov registered one goal and two points in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He potted the game-tying tally in the final minute of regulation.
The 20-year-old accumulated 19 goals and 62 points in 82 games last season. Demidov also finished second in Calder Trophy voting for the league's top rookie. He's yet to miss a game in the NHL.
Demidov missed practice Monday for what the Canadiens called a "therapy day." He also sat out two practices during the preseason after blocking a shot with his foot.
Meanwhile, Montreal forward Oliver Kapanen (lower body) and defenseman Kaiden Guhle (adductor) have yet to play this season.
The Canadiens face the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday in an Eastern Conference Final rematch.
