Toronto Maple Leafs offseason signing Jack Roslovic feels the team is "ready to win" despite missing the playoffs last season.
"They've been a team that you could say didn't have their best year last year but is a team that is new, it's young, it's vibrant, it's ready to win," Roslovic told TSN's "OverDrive" on Thursday. "A couple familiar faces around. A really cool, a really good style of hockey that's exciting. Just wanted to be a part of it."
The Maple Leafs cratered in 2025-26, finishing last in the Atlantic with 78 points after winning the division the previous campaign with 108 points.
Toronto inked Roslovic to a two-year contract with a $4-million cap hit July 1. The forward tallied 21 goals and 36 points in 69 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers. The 29-year-old managed one assist in six playoff contests.
Roslovic is looking forward to sharing the ice with Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews again. They played on a line with the U.S. National Team Development Program in 2014-15.
"We played in juniors together and had a lot of success at that level," Roslovic said. "I've been watching him from afar a bit. Obviously, still close friends, and watching the way he's grown as a person, as a player, it's remarkable to see what he's done. Being the captain here obviously is not an easy thing to do, but the ability for him and the way he plays and the way I know he exerts himself on a daily basis is awesome. Just excited to get pushing with him and be able to play and pick up some things that will translate for my game."
Roslovic is one of nine additions Toronto made this offseason. Other new Maple Leafs include first overall pick Gavin McKenna, defenseman Darren Raddysh, and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
