The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Tommy Novak to a three-year contract extension worth $4.65 million per season, the team announced Friday.
Novak will play out the final year of his current contract during the upcoming campaign before his new deal kicks in for 2027-28. The 29-year-old had been scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency next summer.
Pittsburgh acquired Novak from the Nashville Predators in March 2025. He notched 42 points in 82 games last season while averaging only 14 minutes per contest, and the majority of his production came at even strength.
The Penguins don't have any unsigned players for the 2026-27 season and have nearly $13.7 million in cap space, per PuckPedia.
