Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin added the Dallas Stars to the short list of teams he'd waive his no-trade clause for, according to MLive's Ansar Khan.

Larkin initially submitted a three-team list of the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, and Minnesota Wild when news of his shocking trade request broke in June.

The Stars reportedly reached out to the Red Wings shortly after the center asked out of Detroit.

The Red Wings asked for Wyatt Johnston in a potential deal with the Stars, according to Khan, though they were shot down. Detroit general manager Steve Yzerman reportedly covets NHL-ready players over picks and prospects in a potential return for Larkin as the club looks to snap a 10-year playoff drought.

The Stars offered restricted free-agent winger Jason Robertson, but it's unclear if he'd be willing to sign with the Red Wings. Robertson reportedly nixed a trade to the Seattle Kraken earlier this offseason despite being offered an eight-year deal that would have paid him $15 million per season.

The Red Wings have $19.6 million in cap space, per PuckPedia, but trading Larkin without receiving a center in return would be a critical blow to their depth down the middle.

The Stars have $10.6 million in flexibility, which likely isn't enough to sign Robertson to a long-term extension.

Larkin is owed $8.7 million per year through 2031. The 29-year-old notched 34 goals and 67 points last season and helped the United States win gold at the Olympics.
