Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon will play in Tuesday's Game 4 against the Vegas Golden Knights, head coach Jared Bednar confirmed, according to the Denver Gazette's Evan Rawal.
The Avalanche trail 3-0 in the Western Conference Final.
MacKinnon suffered an injury while blocking a shot in Game 3, briefly leaving the contest before returning in the third period for four shifts. MacKinnon has seven goals and 15 points in 12 playoff games to lead the Avalanche.
The 30-year-old posted 127 points in 80 games in the regular season with an NHL-best 53 goals.
Bednar also confirmed that Mackenzie Blackwood will start for Colorado in Tuesday's must-win contest, per Rawal.
Scott Wedgewood allowed four goals on 22 shots in Game 3. Blackwood has started two games in these playoffs but was pulled in his second start after giving up three goals on 13 shots in Game 5 versus the Minnesota Wild.
Blackwood has an .872 save percentage in three appearances this postseason. Wedgewood is 7-4 in the playoffs with a .904 SV%.
Bednar added that forward Valeri Nichushkin is questionable, according to Rawal. The Russian has two goals and four points in the postseason.
