The Calgary Flames drafted forward Joe Iginla, son of Hockey Hall of Famer and franchise legend Jarome Iginla, 65th overall at the 2026 NHL Draft on Saturday.
Iginla spent this past season with the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings and Vancouver Giants, notching 31 points in 59 appearances between the clubs.
He entered the draft as the 200th-ranked North American skater by NHL Central Scouting.
Iginla's older brother, Tij, was drafted sixth overall by the Utah Mammoth in 2024.
Jarome Iginla suited up for the Flames from 1996 to 2013 and is the organization's all-time leader in games played (1,219), goals (525), and points (1,095). He currently works in Calgary's front office as a special advisor.
