Flames' Beecher suspended 1 game for sucker-punching Preds' McCarron
The NHL's Department of Player Safety suspended Calgary Flames forward John Beecher one game Sunday for roughing Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron.
Beecher sucker-punched McCarron while the latter was being restrained by a linesman in Saturday's game.

Beecher and McCarron were assessed matching minor penalties for roughing and 10-minute misconducts on the play.
Predators defenseman Nicolas Hague subsequently fought Beecher in the second period.

It looks like Beecher hurt his wrist/arm in this fight. He immediately went down the Flames tunnel.

It's the first suspension of Beecher's 155-game career. He's never been fined.
Beecher has zero goals, two assists, and 29 penalty minutes in 19 games this season with the Flames. Calgary claimed the 24-year-old off waivers from the Boston Bruins in November.
