The Winnipeg Jets will host the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Heritage Classic game at Princess Auto Stadium on Oct. 25, 2026.

The home of the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers hosted an outdoor game between the Jets and Edmonton Oilers in 2016. The Oilers won 3-0.

This will be the eighth Heritage Classic game and first since 2023, when the Oilers hosted the Calgary Flames at Commonwealth Stadium. It's the league's 46th regular-season outdoor game.

"When Winnipeg hosted the Heritage Classic in 2016, we were blown away by the amazing fan response and how great the venue was," NHL president of content and events Steve Mayer said. "Given the success the Jets have had since we were last there, it's fitting to bring another outdoor spectacle to Winnipeg."

The Jets are coming off a 2024-25 campaign during which they won the Presidents' Trophy. Connor Hellebuyck won the Vezina Trophy and Hart Memorial Trophy.

This year, largely without Hellebuyck, the Jets are struggling to a 14-12-1 record entering Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Habs (14-9-3) are third in the Eastern Conference entering Saturday.
