Leafs place Stolarz on IR, claim Stecher off waivers
The Toronto Maple Leafs placed goaltender Anthony Stolarz on injured reserve and claimed defenseman Troy Stecher off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers, the team announced Saturday.
Stolarz will miss at least two more games with his IR designation being retroactive to Nov. 11. He departed Tuesday's loss against the Boston Bruins after the first period with an upper-body injury.
The 31-year-old has gone 6-5-1 this season with an .884 save percentage.
Stecher, listed at 5-foot-10, has yet to register a point in six games this season. He totaled seven points in 66 contests last year with Edmonton. The right-handed rearguard adds depth to Toronto's blue line with Chris Tanev still sidelined.
The 31-year-old has a cap hit of $787,500 and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
The Maple Leafs face the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
