The Ottawa Senators are interested in signing soon-to-be unrestricted free agent forward Brock Boeser, according to Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch.

The Senators are reportedly looking to acquire a top-six forward, and Boeser is one of the top goal-scoring options available on the open market. The 28-year-old recorded 25 tallies this past season and has eclipsed the 20-goal mark in six of his eight full NHL campaigns.

Boeser's expected to leave the Vancouver Canucks after nine seasons with the franchise. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said he had shopped the winger prior to March's trade deadline but found the offers underwhelming.

In February, Boeser said he was frustrated by a lack of extension talks with the Canucks.

Boeser has earned $6.65 million annually over the past three seasons. The Senators have approximately $10.7 million in cap space, per PuckPedia, and are working on retaining veteran UFA Claude Giroux.

Ottawa made the playoffs for the first time since 2017 this spring before getting eliminated by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round.
