Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet announced Tuesday that forward Filip Chytil is unlikely to suit up for the rest of the season due to a lingering concussion, according to Sportsnet's Brendan Batchelor.
Chytil has been out since March 15, when he took a controversial hit from behind by Chicago Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson. Officials didn't call a penalty on the play.
The 25-year-old has a history of concussions and was limited to 10 regular-season games last season due to a suspected head injury before rejoining the New York Rangers in the playoffs.
The Canucks acquired Chytil in January as part of the return for J.T. Miller. He registered six points in 15 contests after the trade.
Vancouver has eight games remaining and is six points back of a playoff spot. The Canucks are also without forwards Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander due to injury.
