The Vancouver Canucks sent defenseman Mark Friedman to the Nashville Predators for future considerations, the clubs announced Friday.
Friedman was in his second season with the Canucks, who acquired him in a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins in October 2023.
The 29-year-old has primarily played in the AHL this season. He produced a goal and five assists in 20 games with the Abbotsford Canucks. Friedman was held pointless in five contests with Vancouver in 2024-25.
He notched a lone assist in 23 games with the NHL club last campaign.
Friedman spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins and their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He started his career playing parts of three campaigns with the Philadelphia Flyers, who drafted him 86th overall in 2014.
Friday's trade is the Canucks' third swap in the last week. Last Friday, they sent forward J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers in a five-player deal and acquired blue-liner Marcus Pettersson from the Penguins in a separate five-player exchange. Five days later, Vancouver signed Pettersson to a six-year extension at $5.5 million annually.
