Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi suffered a lower-body injury during his team's 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.
It isn't clear what happened to the star defenseman, but he didn't take a shift in the second frame and was ruled out of the contest at the start of the third period.
Josi saw just 5:32 minutes of ice time in the first stanza.
There was no postgame update on his status, per team reporter Brooks Bratten.
The Predators were already missing blue-liner Alexandre Carrier, who is considered week-to-week with an upper-body issue. Nashville has also been without bruiser Jeremy Lauzon since late November because of a lower-body problem.
Josi entered Tuesday's game with a team-leading 16 assists and 23 points in 28 outings. He also sat third in the league in average ice time (25:40).
The 34-year-old was the runner-up for the Norris Trophy last season after pacing all rearguards with 23 goals while ranking third in the class with 85 points in 82 games.
Josi is the Predators' all-time leader in points (709) and assists (521) in 938 career contests.
Nashville is now on an eight-game winless streak thanks to Tuesday's loss.
