Toronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok is out month-to-month after undergoing groin and sports hernia surgery, the team announced Monday.
Jarnkrok has been on long-term injured reserve since the start of the 2024-25 season, but the Leafs didn't specify his initial injury and recovery timeline.
The 33-year-old is in the third season of a four-year pact he signed with Toronto in 2022. He counts for $2.1 million against the cap annually.
Jarnkrok has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his Maple Leafs tenure. He was limited to 52 games last season and 73 the campaign before. Jarnkrok has collected 60 points in 125 regular-season contests and three points in 17 playoff games with Toronto.
The Maple Leafs are also without captain Auston Matthews and Max Pacioretty up front due to injuries.
Toronto sits second in the Atlantic Division at 11-6-2.
