Washington Capitals forward Anthony Mantha is out indefinitely after undergoing shoulder surgery following Thursday's contest against the Florida Panthers, the team announced.

Mantha likely suffered the injury in the second period when he collided with teammate John Carlson during a power play. He finished his shift but didn't return for the remainder of the game.

The Capitals are dealing with a slew of injuries, as Mantha joins Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie on injured reserve.

Mantha has scored two goals and added four assists in 10 games this season. He has accumulated 14 points in 24 contests since being acquired from the Detroit Red Wings last season.
