The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Danton Heinen to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million, the team announced Thursday.
Heinen became an unrestricted free agent after the Anaheim Ducks didn't extend him a qualifying offer earlier this week. Anaheim acquired him from the Boston Bruins last February.
The 26-year-old managed seven goals and seven assists in 43 games last season. He spent three campaigns with the Bruins before joining the Ducks, posting a career-high 47 points as a rookie in 2017-18.
He's notched 44 goals and 77 assists in 272 career games.
