The Florida Panthers have signed breakout forward Carter Verhaeghe to a three-year extension, the team announced Wednesday.
Verhaeghe was already under contract through 2021-22 at a $1-million cap hit, according to CapFriendly.
The center produced 18 goals and 18 assists over 43 games with the Panthers this past season. Verhaeghe, who turns 26 in August, clicked on Florida's top line in 2021, primarily playing alongside Panthers captain and reigning Selke Trophy winner Aleksander Barkov.
Verhaeghe signed with Florida as a free agent last October. He collected nine goals and four assists over 52 contests during his rookie season with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019-20.
