Free-agent goaltender James Reimer is joining the San Jose Sharks on a two-year contract.

The deal comes with an average annual value of $2.25 million, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

Reimer will man the Sharks' crease along with Adin Hill for the upcoming season after San Jose bought out longtime starter Martin Jones, who subsequently signed with the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

This marks Reimer's second stint with the Sharks. San Jose acquired him at the trade deadline in 2016, and he made eight appearances with the team before joining the Florida Panthers the following season.

Reimer spent the last two campaigns with the Carolina Hurricanes and began his career in 2011 with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 33-year-old won 15 of 21 starts this past season with a .906 save percentage.
