Maple Leafs land Mrazek on 3-year deal with $3.8M AAV
Mrazek is expected to form a tandem alongside incumbent Toronto netminder Jack Campbell; Campbell emerged as the Maple Leafs' starter while Frederik Andersen struggled with performance and injuries last season.
Andersen reportedly joined the Hurricanes as an unrestricted free agent Wednesday.
Mrazek missed 31 games last season due to a broken thumb but posted strong numbers when healthy. He owned a .923 save percentage and a 2.06 goals-against average in 12 starts for the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 29-year-old has also had stints with the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers in his career. He owns a .911 save percentage in 275 appearances over nine NHL seasons.
Toronto will have approximately $5.5 million in cap space after signing Mrazek, according to CapFriendly.
