The Dallas Stars signed blue-liner Mark Pysyk to a one-year contract worth $750,000, the team announced Saturday.
"Mark is a solid, puck-moving defenseman and gives us another right-handed shot on the backend," said Stars general manager Jim Nill. "We feel that his skill set lends itself to how we ask our defensemen to activate and he will be a good fit."
Pysyk has split his eight-year career between the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers. This past season, the 28-year-old notched 18 points in 58 games while averaging 12:45 per contest.
He'll slot in as a depth option on a Stars blue line that is one of the best in the NHL.
