The New York Rangers have inked defenseman Jack Johnson to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.
Johnson's deal is worth $1.15 million, according to The New York Post's Larry Brooks.
Johnson, 33, spent the previous two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins but had the final three years of his contract with the club bought out on Monday.
The 6-foot-1 blue-liner contributed three goals and 11 points through 67 games in 2019-20. He also led the Penguins with 97 blocked shots and ranked second on the club with 183 hits.
