The Vegas Golden Knights are set to sign restricted free agent forward Chandler Stephenson to a four-year extension worth $11 million, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Washington Capitals traded Stephenson to Vegas last season. He notched 22 points in 41 regular-season games with the Golden Knights, then chipped in three goals and two assists in 20 postseason contests.
The Golden Knights had committed over $81.5 million to next season's roster before the Stephenson extension, so they need to clear salary to become cap compliant before the 2020-21 campaign begins.
