The New York Islanders will be without forwards Matt Martin and Tom Kuhnhackl for four-to-six weeks, president of hockey operations Lou Lamoriello told reporters, including NHL.com's Brian Compton, on Sunday.
Martin has appeared in seven games for the Islanders this season, recording two goals and one assist. He injured his leg after crashing into an open bench door against the Ottawa Senators on Friday, but returned to finish the game.
Kuhnhackl has gone pointless in six games with the team this year. He was injured in the first period during Friday's game.
The Islanders do not plan to call any players up at this time, Lamoriello added.
