Misyul spent the majority of this past season in the Russian junior league before being promoted to Yaroslavl's KHL club for three regular-season games and six playoff contests.

The blue-liner certainly didn't post gaudy offensive numbers, but his two-way game put him on the radar heading into the draft; he rose three spots to No. 8 on NHL Central Scouting's final list of European skaters.

Misyul helped Yaroslavl capture two junior league titles and represented Russia at the Under-18 World Championship in 2018. He was also a member of the Russian squad that claimed bronze at the Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2016.

What they're saying

"(Misyul) has intriguing tools for a big man. He skates and closes gaps well and can join attacks. He's got decent puck skills, with enough evasiveness to weave through traffic on a rush or make a play off the blue line. His stick handling is a bit rigid when he tries to do anything too crafty, but there is some offense in his game." - The Athletic's Corey Pronman
