Svechnikov was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Monday, MLive.com reports.
Analysis:
With the Red Wings out of the playoffs and Drew Miller unavailable due to illness, it's time for them to unleash the Russian prospect who was taken with the 19th overall pick in the 2015 draft. Svechnikov is lauded for his snappy release and ability to detect uncovered lanes within the attacking zone. The 20-year-old heads to hockey's highest level after collecting 18 goals and 26 assists in 68 games with the Griffins.
