The Nashville Predators placed forward Mike Ribeiro on waivers Friday, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
The move comes after the 36-year-old reportedly requested a trade from the team, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun. Ribeiro has been a healthy scratch the past three games and five of the last 11.
"Mike didn't want to keep being a scratch, so he asked for a trade. We put him on waivers to see if there's a match." Laviolette on Ribeiro

Ribeiro's production is down from last year, but only slightly. He has four goals and 25 points in 46 games this season after tallying seven goals and 50 points one year ago.
He's in the final season of a two-year, $7-million contract with a cap hit of $3.5 million.
