Kings' Jonathan Quick: Expected to miss two more months
Quick (groin) is expected to return to game action in mid-February, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
Analysis:
An earlier report indicated Quick wouldn't be ready to return until March, but Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi actually misspoke when relaying that timetable to reporters Wednesday, later clarifying that a March return would be a worst-case scenario for the American goaltender. Interim No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj has been decent during Quick's absence, posting a 13-7-2 record while maintaining a 2.27 GAA over 25 appearances, so the Kings will likely continue to take an extremely cautious approach with their star goaltender's rehab.
