Although Versteeg is still technically on injured reserve according to the NHL's official media site, the reassignment of Linden Vey to AHL Stockton indicates that the 30-year-old journeyman is ready to make his return Wednesday. The recent injury to Johnny Gaudreau (finger) may open the door for Versteeg to get more ice time -- he's averaged only 12:12 this year -- so his production could pick up if his role expands.
