Islanders' Johnny Boychuk: Scores game winner against Arizona
Boychuk scored the game-winning goal while shorthanded and registered an assist with four shots on net, a plus-1 rating, three hits and a blocked shot during Friday's game against the Coyotes.
Analysis:
This is the stuffed stat line fantasy owners are used to seeing from Boychuk. Nick Leddy (upper body) didn't suit up for the game, and Ryan Pulock was forced from the contest due to a lower-body injury after playing just 3:57. As a result, Boychuk received a season-high 22:11 of ice time and had his best showing of the season. However, he played just 23 seconds with the man advantage. So, while Friday's game was an encouraging outing, without a sizable power-play role, Boychuk will likely struggle to return to his 2014-15 form when he scored 35 points and averaged 2:50 on the PP.
