Bellemare will have a hearing Tuesday for checking Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov from behind in Monday's game, NHL.com reports.
Analysis:
Bellemare received a five-minute major and a game misconduct in Monday's 6-1 loss. As he and Orlov were racing to the puck in the corner, the forward hit Orlov into the boards from behind. The hit has raised great controversy, as it's possible that Orlov simply lost his footing before falling head-first into the boards. Although no one was seriously injured, the NHL's Department of Player Safety will determine whether Bellemare's hit will result in a suspension.
