After 12 seasons in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison appears intent on returning for at least one more.
"He's under contract for one more year," said Bill Parise, Harrison's agent, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. "We plan to honor that."
Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said Tuesday that he expects the 38-year-old to continue playing.
"We're anticipating he wants to continue playing. I don't see any reason we wouldn't want to have him here," said Colbert, according to James C. Wexell of SteelCityInsider.
Harrison rejoined the Steelers after a one-season stint with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013, in which he appeared to be a shell of his former self.
However, Harrison has enjoyed two straight seasons of solid production since his return to Pittsburgh, racking up 40 tackles, five sacks, and one interception in 2015 despite playing limited snaps.
The former Defensive Player of the Year has just a $1.5-million cap hit in 2016, and should continue to provide solid depth for the Steelers' defense.
