Tyrann Mathieu references Kanye video to explain Stacey Dash comments

Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has an odd explanation for Stacey Dash's controversial comments about the Oscars.

Dash, an actress and commentator for FOX News, appeared on "Fox & Friends" to speak about the uproar concerning the lack of African-American representation among the nominees for the 88th Academy Awards.

"We have to make up our minds," Dash said. "Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don't want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It's a double standard."

She also suggested the elimination of Black History Month.

The social media response to Dash's comments have been tepid to say the least, including Mathieu's tongue-in-cheek tweet connecting her attitude to a 2004 music video she appeared in with Kanye West.

The video for "All Falls Down" involves Dash and Kanye West hurrying through an airport to catch a flight:

Mathieu's season ended in December when he tore his ACL. His Cardinals meet the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
