Chargers fire special teams coordinator Kevin Spencer

The San Diego Chargers have fired special teams coordinator Kevin Spencer, the team announced Wednesday.
Chargers assistant special teams coach Craig Aukerman will coach the units for the rest of the year.
San Diego ranks 29th in average yards per kickoff return, and last in average yards per punt return.
Spencer joined the Chargers in January 2013. The 62-year-old won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005 as their special teams coordinator.
