Miami Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews was diagnosed with multiple fractured ribs after being forced from Sunday's game against the New York Jets, according to Rand Getlin of NFL Network.
A timeline for Matthews' return isn't known, but head coach Dan Campbell conceded Monday he may not play next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
An absence for the fourth-year pro would be a significant loss to an already struggling Miami offense.
Matthews is the second on the Dolphins with 43 receptions for 662 yards and four touchdowns through 11 games.
