Cardinals' Johnson, Ellington day to day pending MRI results
The Arizona Cardinals' top two running backs appear unlikely to miss significant time as a result of injuries suffered Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
General Manager Steve Keim said Monday in an appearance on Arizona Sports 98.7 that Chris Johnson is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee, while Andre Ellington suffered a toe injury.
Keim said both players, pending results from MRIs scheduled for Monday, are considered day to day.
Johnson and Ellington will likely have their status for Week 13 decided in the coming days, but initial indications are that their respective recovery times could be minimal.
Rookie David Johnson could be vaulted into a more prominent role in the Cardinals' high-powered offense if Johnson or Ellington can't play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.
