DFS: Four Elite To Avoid in Week 11

Here are four normally elite players you should probably think twice about rostering in Week 11:

QB Aaron Rodgers, Packers (at Vikings)

Even though the last couple weeks haven't seemed the most Rodgersian, with the exception of the horrible game against Denver, Rodgers hasn't been abysmal. But you don't pick Rodgers for a good week. You pick him for an elite, world-beating week. On paper, he should have dismantled Detroit, but he was merely good.

The Vikings pose a tougher nut to crack. They still haven't allowed a single 300-yard passer. If anyone can do it, it's Rodgers, but why bother when you can spread your budget around on more consistent options or less expensive high-risk plays?

WR A.J. Green, Bengals (at Cardinals)

Green has been a DFS bust following his 227 yard, two-TD performance against the Ravens in Week 3. It's hard to believe, considering the success the Bengals - Week 10 notwithstanding - have found. In the six games since, he's caught a single TD - in his other monster week against Pittsburgh.

The Cardinals are the anti-Green. Where Green's two great games have skewed his averages, the Cardinals got lit up twice through the air - once by Drew Brees and again by a Matthew Stafford-Dan Orlovsky combo, of all people. Otherwise, they've been very stingy. Find value in a number of other receivers for Week 11.

RB DeMarco Murray, Eagles (vs. Buccaneers)

Murray has mostly righted the ship after an atrocious first few weeks. Yet, while his work has improved greatly, and he's being used in the passing game more, he's still not performing at the level his reputation requires.

Marshawn Lynch has arguably been worse, but Lynch goes up against the soft 49ers defense. Murray will be rostered by too many people to make him worth selecting.

TE Greg Olsen, Panthers (vs. Redskins)

Olsen will likely put up good numbers. His floor is steady from week to week while his ceiling will occasionally burst through cloud cover. The question becomes whether or not you want to pay his salary or go cheaper. Going cheaper is the better bet. There are plenty of options at TE who will probably score lower but allow you more wiggle room at other positions.
