The Washington Redskins are planning to release kicker Kai Forbath and sign free agent Dustin Hopkins to fill his spot, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Forbath, who re-signed with the team on a one-year deal this offseason, made 1-of-2 field-goal attempts in Washington's Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Hopkins has spent time with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints after being selected in the sixth round of the 2013 draft, but he's yet to appear in a regular-season game.
