The NFL suspended four unsigned free agents a total of 12 games for unspecified violations, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was suspended three games. He plead guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in January and received probation.

Mike Williams, who played nine games with the Buffalo Bills last season, was also suspended for three games, while Jermaine Cunningham and Rodney Austin each received six-game bans.

Cunningham was a second-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2010, playing parts of five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets, in addition to the Pats.

Austin was charged with assault against a woman and minor in April after being a staple of the Detroit Lions' practice squad from 2012 to 2014. He was released immediately following the incident.
