Oakland Raiders right tackle Menelik Watson suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during Sunday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Watson confirmed the severity of the injury post-game on Twitter.
"I will be back stronger than ever that's a promise. Main thing is supporting the team right now #RaiderNation," Watson tweeted.
The injury will sideline Watson for the the entire 2015 season. He was reportedly very upset when told about the extent of his ailment by the Raiders' medical staff.
The 26-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft and started in nine games last season.
Watson will be replaced in the lineup by Austin Howard.
