Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul says fireworks accident wasn't a setback
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul lost his right index finger in a Fourth of July fireworks accident, but he hasn't lost his sense of humor.
Pierre-Paul took to Twitter on Sunday to share a brief message with his followers, marking his first public comments since the accident:
What happened to me was not a set back. God has greater plans for me. No man can judge me accepted God himself.

While Pierre-Paul appears to be in good spirits, his tweets give no indication about where he stands in his recovery process.
Reports have indicated that the 26-year-old plans to stay away from training camp until he's healthy enough to pass a physical, which would prevent the Giants from placing him on the non-football injury list.
Giants owner John Mara was also critical of Pierre-Paul in a recent interview, expressing disappointment over him declining the help of team doctors.
