Frank Gore, much like the entire football world, sees something special in Andrew Luck.
The veteran running back was part of several successful teams toward the end of his 10-year career with San Francisco 49ers, but he believes Luck and the rest of the Indianapolis Colts offense may be the most talented group he's played with yet.
"I think if we keep working and keep going and get that gelled, I think by far it can," Gore told NFL Media's Nate Burleson on Tuesday. "Especially with No. 12, man. I'm not knocking my other quarterbacks, I respect them other guys, but being around this guy a couple months, he's a different breed. He's smart. He makes me feel young. He runs the huddle. I never had that."
Gore speaking about finally having a quarterback that runs the huddle is particularly notable given his years with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick under center in San Francisco, but suggesting Luck is on a different level isn't exactly surprising.
Luck's three-year career is off to an unprecedented start, as he's carried the Colts to three consecutive 11-5 records, earned three Pro Bowl selections, and has thrown for 86 touchdowns.
Gore, coming off his eighth 1,000-yard season, will look to bring some much-needed consistency to the Colts' running game after joining the club as a free-agent.
Producing anywhere near that mark would take more pressure off Luck and the passing game, potentially giving the young signal caller the opportunity to play at an even higher level.
