Team USA, as expected, obliterated Japan 59-12 in the gold medal game of the International Federation of American Football World Championship (IFAF) on Saturday.
The U.S. dominated the tournament, beating France 82-0, Australia by 50, and South Korea by 41 en route to the championship.
The American roster consisted of recent graduates of non-Division I schools, as professionals are barred from participating in the tournament.
For the third straight year, Japan took the silver medal, with Mexico winning the bronze.
But the tournament held in Canton, Ohio was all about Team USA's complete superiority; the U.S. outscored its opponents 214-36 throughout the tournament, and only punted seven times in four games.
